Gab Mejia is a National Geographic Explorer and writer for The Manila Times.

He is a conservation photographer, mountaineer, and storyteller from the Philippines on the pursuit to climb and explore the mountains of the world, and document the environmental issues of wetlands with the ultimate goal to reach the 7 summits as he hopes to inspire the youth to explore these natural spaces and aim to conserve and protect them.

My Story

When I was 12 after my first major hike in Mt. Kinabalu in Malaysia, I was so inspired that I told myself that when I turn legal at the age of 18, I will start traveling the world. Being young and even studying civil engineering as an aspiring environmental engineer in the university never stopped me from living this dream of mine.

And so I did.

Through photography, in just two years I was able to climb 60+ mountains, go to 15 countries, explore 4 continents, and travel around 30 provinces in my homeland the Philippines learning about mountains and the environment, and sharing these stories and photographs to different schools and universities raising awareness of environmental protection to these landscapes .

But my adventure has just begun and I am ready to keep exploring one summit, one mountain, and one world to save it.

Let's collaborate and climb together!
